  2. Kia ora Aye,

My name is Shannon and I’m from the Summer Learning Journey.

Ka pai on your Te Huarere slide show. I only recently began learning te reo too, so I found your blog post very helpful for understanding how to talk about the weather! I’m super impressed by your sentences and how you added the colours to make the parts easier to separate. It’s been sunny, rainy, and cloudy all across New Zealand hasn’t it!

I am on holiday with my family so using your slideset I asked my mum, “He aha te tohu huarere?” She replied, “He rangi paki.” It looks like we might be going for a swim! What have been you doing over your summer break?

Maybe you could practice saying your sentence and screen castify it to get more points?

    Ka kite anō,
    Shannon (SLJ)

    1. Hello Shannon!

Thank you so much! I tried my best on the pronunciation and it's so amazing for me to know that it helped you! Yes, you are very correct. The weather changes from sunny to cloudy and rainy- It even hailed yesterday!

Oh wow! I am so happy you used my slide set to talk to your mum in Te Reo! I am going shopping quite often, I am also going to the beach for picnics with my family and friends quite often too.

      Thank you,

      Aye :)

    2. Hello Aye,

Where are you going shopping? What sorts of things do you buy?

I love beach picnics! When I lived in Australia, my family had them all the time and we went to so many different beaches! What sorts of things do you like to do on your picnics?

      Bye for now,
      Shannon (SLJ)

    3. Hi Shannon!

Well, I have been to Harvey Norman, Briscoes and Sylvia Park! I recently went to Harvey Norman to buy a bunk bed for my sisters and me! That's so cool! My family enjoys our picnics too. On our picnics we have BBQ's, fly our kites, ride on our bikes and scooters, eat (of course) and more!

      Aye :)

    4. Hi Aye,

Bunk beds are the coolest! Do you prefer to sleep on the top bunk or the bottom? The top is higher, but you can build a secret fort easier on the bottom!

I love flying kites! I once had one that looked like a dragon. What do your kites look like?

      Have a great day,
      Shannon (SLJ)

    5. Hello Shannon!

Yes they are! Hmm, I really don't mind but I feel like I like the top bunk better! But yes, making a fort on the bottom with blankets is super cool! I really can't choose!

Same I love flying kites too! Mine look like an octopus!

      Thank you, you too!

      Aye :)
