The other day, I went snorkeling right? Well I did it again but this time...I spotted a Manatee; 7 actually (which is even better)!

It all started when I dove into a HUGE, no- MASSIVE pool of water. It was clear so people could see what was happening in the inside. I saw that there were a few Manatees when I was about to dive in but when I dove in, it seemed a bit lonely….

It was like I triggered the Manatees and got them to hide and it was like they were scared. I looked around and swiftly swam around. I touched and swayed around the seaweed, trying to spot at least 1!

Then, I spotted it, a cute hiding animal that was just swimming there. Eventually it carefully looked at me and examined around. I looked from side to side.

It made that cute seal noise that baby seals made and nodded his head. I smiled and swam around with him. All of a sudden, the baby Manatee did something that proved and made the other Manatees come out. They all came out and it was like a underwater party with them. We swam, danced and pranced. They were SO cute!

It was an unforgettable moment that I would never forget…

Snorkelling w\ Green sea Turtles narrative

Welcome back or welcome to my blog!

Today, my class and I are learning about the amazing.....Turtles! I had to write a narrative imagining that I was snorkelling underwater with some green sea turtles. It is a bit of a short writing since, I didn't know what to write exactly. Keep in mind that this is a narrative and that this isn't true (although I have gone snorkelling at Goat Island with my class). But anyways guys I hope you enjoy this simple and short story!

Nothing’s better than a nice snorkelling trip, right? Well that’s EXACTLY what I did!

I went snorkelling in some glistening, clear blue, shiny water. That’s not even the best part; I met some friends while I was snorkelling. Nope, not human friends- and, (definitely) not aliens but, some green sea turtles! If snorkelling is great by itself, imagine spotting some cute green sea turtles as well!

Basically, I was swimming around, I spotted a couple fish but not the types of fish that are rare to find; More like the fish that are a common find. So, you should’ve seen my face when I spotted 4 green sea turtles swimming together below in the water!

They were not a rare find but, not a common one either-they were…….super rare to find since, only about 17% of people that come (this is a narrative so that isn’t true) spot a green sea turtle. 

The best part is how I was super lucky and spotted 4 because, if you do find green sea turtles, there is a big chance that there will be 1 or 2 and only a few spot 3+ turtles! You have got to be kidding me if you still don’t think that's awesome.

They were a bit frightened when I first got closer but then they felt chill after a bit. They were very friendly and didn’t try to attack me or anything. This was a very fun and unforgettable moment :D\

Matariki day RECOUNT: Part 1

Hey guys; Welcome back or welcome to my blog!

Yesterday was Matariki day, and..um; I did not forget but just didn't have time to write a recount about everything that happened yesterday. You see, after my sisters and I were all ready and we got out of our house to go to school, my mum said that after school we would go to Nadi and Nu Nu's house. Of course, I was excited and I thought I would have enough time to write about Matariki before we went to their house. Speaking of the trip to their house, we stayed there until like 9:00 PM! I am going to have to write about that too!

Anyways, here's what happened during Matariki day!

First, as soon as I got into class, I got hand sanitiser on my hands and then Mr Goodwin came over to me, looked through a printed out book kinda thing and said,

"Your doing arts and crafts in room 4 with Miss Stone".

I was glad because every year I do arts and crafts and, it's my passion. Maybe next year I will do something different, oh well. Anyway- I was relived also because room 4 was literally just across my classroom. I could see the entrance through the window beside me! After everybody got told their room and what they will be doing, we had an assembly. The korero was "Matariki is awesome". After assembly, everybody went to class and then got ready and, if you came late or forgot which room your going, the teachers told you. About 25+ minutes later and my class was ready to hit the road!

I ran over to room 4 and lined up with the other seniors. There actually wasn't any little kids from year 1 and 2 in this years group which, was different! There were mainly year 7 and 8's. Miss Stone is very lovely and friendly and she gave us all hand sanitiser and then she told us to find a place to sit and put your bag in. The year 7 and 8's room were VERY different so, the students whose class was in the space we were in, showed us and told the others everything. But anyway, after everybody found a spot, we all watched a video which was about the story of Matariki.

Once, the video finished, Miss Stone (and Mrs Carruthers, I didn't know she'd be here but yeah), told us and showed us pictures of what we had to make. Basically, we had to paint a background (any background but, just has to include a sky) and we had to colour in some stars and cut the stars out. Then we had to stick the stars on the background. We even could make a kite if we finished early (some people made kites but, I took my time to make my stars and didn't have enough time to make one. BUT I did finished my stars and stuff but just not the kite). Everybody was handed out a nice sheet of 7 stars to colour and a big white blank paper so if you used vivid to colour, it wouldn't go on the tables. 

After the instructions were told to us, we were able to start! I coloured and made patterns on my stars and, I was pretty happy with it. I kept on going and, when I finished one that I could cut out....I accidentally cut a big piece in the star beside it and...I drew a beautiful pattern on it! But, before that happened, I just finished my first star when I was called out to start painting my background. I blended it as much as I could and I even made some grass!

It is getting late outside guys so, I think this is it from me. I better get ready for bed but- I will post a part 2 after Sunday school tomorrow! So, until then.....

Matariki Night Sky+ Stars Drawing

Yesterday, it was Matariki day. (Expect a recount of what happened yesterday later on today!) But anyways, I was bored and went on Chrome Canvas for fun just to try it out and draw something. I ended up drawing a blended purple and blue night sky with seven stars glistening in the top of the picture. I tried my best and I hope you like it!

Tomorrow is Matariki day :O

Welcome back or welcome to my blog!

This isn't a post where I have something to share but, I just wanted to let you know that tomorrow I won't be posting anything. Now, don't think I am trying to run away from school or anything but the real reason is that...tomorrow is Matariki day! Matariki is a Maori celebration that is a sign of the Maori new year. 

This is like a tradition in my school but, basically every Matariki day, the whole school has to choose 1 activity that they mostly want to do.

Every class has to do a online survey or tell their teacher which event they want to do. The options for this year were:

Crafting\arts and crafts, movie\performance related, cooking and sports.

I always choose crafts because I just LOVE art, I got into art when I went to kindergarten. So this year, I chose the same, but the order I chose was arts\crafts, cooking, movie\performance related and then sports. I am not much of a sports fan and I don't really know what the "movie\performance related" thing is. I really hope I get crafts or cooking!

Enough about me, basically Matariki day is tomorrow and all the students that have Chromebooks won't take them to school as we don't need them. We will be doing the thing we chose for the whole day! Awesome, right? OK and so that's why- but; I will FOR SURE post a recount of how the day went and what I did! I can't wait, especially my sisters! It's their 2nd time.

ANZAC Poppy Design

This week, my class and I were learning all about world war one and the war. Today, we focused mainly on ANZAC. I had 2 design tasks, the first one was my poster and this is my second one, drawing\designing poppies! It was so fun and I think I did a pretty good job. 

As you can see, I drew one poppy and then I command c, command v'ed it all and lined them up. Then I got a text box, dragged it in and wrote "Poppies". 

I don't know why but, I thought it would look nice if I used a fancy\nice looking font and so, that is why I chose this font. It is called "homemade apple".

Then I copied that 3 times and made the text big so it looked nice. After that, I lined them up. I decided to do a cool thing where I made the bottom text darker then the middle is a bit lighter and the top would be white. I think it turned out really nice and, I think it would be a nice wallpaper, do you agree?

Adrian and Batgirl: Costumes and Gadgets time

Hey guys, welcome back!
If you have seen my previous ‘Adrian and Batgirl’ series that I wrote, then you will understand the content in this story. If you didn’t see it, read them before you read this one. Also make sure you read them in order, here are the links:

Also, sorry for not posting an Adrian and Batgirl writing in ages. Alrighty guys, without further ado, let's get into the exciting story!

When they entered Adrian’s jaw dropped, again…

Inside were all the colours you could ever imagine, patterns that shined, style that beamed and designers that were proud of their masterpieces. There were costumes EVERYWHERE. On walls, tables EVERYWHERE in that room!

“WOW! So is this where the ‘default costumes’ for trainers, costumes and designers are in?” Adrian wondered, although it was kinda obvious but she just wanted to make sure.

“Yes, indeed it is. This is where you will find your ‘default costume’, which you decide which pattern- if you want one pattern and what colour it will be. Then when you become official then the designers will make something similar to your ‘default costume’. But if you want something different from your ‘default costume’, then you may have it” Andelion told her.

“Yes, I remember when I designed my Batgirl costume and my Batgirl logo!” Batgirl said.

“A-ha! I almost forgot! You also get to design your own logo!” Andelion added.

“YAY! A logo too? How could this day get BETTER!?!?” Adrian said with LOTS of glee in her voice.

Andelion and Batgirl walked forward to the area where you get your ‘default costumes’.

“How may I help you today, Andelion? Oh; And Batgirl!” said Roset.

Roset was very kind and loving to others. She was one of the helpers that participated in creating trainers their 'default costumes’ and if you're lucky, your actual costume too.

“Hi Roset! This is Adrian, she's like my BEST FRIEND EVER. But anyway, I really trust her and want her to get trained to become a superhero. We are here to get her default costume designed” Batgirl said excitedly.

Adrian blushed, she never really had a BFF before so, to have Batgirl as her BFF is REALLY awesome!

After they booked Adrian in for all the training sessions that she’d have to do, they scuttled over to the design area.

“Is this where we design my default costume?” Adrian asked.

“Yes, of course! First, let's see...what colour would you like your default costume to be? It can be your favourite colour, a colour that suits your personality..” Roset told her.

“Hmmm….YELLOW! My favourite colour!” Adrian blurted out. Adrian was so happy that, they all giggled and laughed

“Awesome choice;” said Roset while still giggling.

“Ok, well here is the Yellow collection. What shade? Also they all have patterns on them. Let me know if you don’t want patterns because then, I will bring you the plain yellow shades” Roset added.

Adrian looked around through the patterned materials first, there were hearts, stars, big shaped glitters, pom poms and other materials. Adrian found herself not really interested in the patterned costume materials so she asked Roset,

“Ummm, Roset? I don’t really like these patterned costumes...may I look at the plain materials?”

“Sure thing, girl!” Roset said as she went to take out the plain yellow fabrics.

Adrian looked in it once again and...one of them was not plain...one of them had yellow small bits of glitter on it...and, that one looked PERFECT!

“Roset...I think this one’s perfect for me!” Adrian told her, Adrian couldn’t get her eyes off it AT ALL!

Afterwards, Roset checked it out and agreed. Roset called the people over that made the costumes and stuff and they took the material and sowed, cut and the things you do when you make an outfit...

(A FEW MINUTES LATER).

Finally, the costume were all made and prepared for Adrian.

“Ok Adrian. Lets go to the training area now!” Andelion told her.

So they went up the elevator and went inside the MASSIVE training room! The training room was so big, it could probably fit 5 or more elephants! Not to mention the height of the room!

“WOW! How cool is this, Batgirl?” said Adrian.

“MEGA COOL...NO, TRIPLE COOL...NO, SUPER, DUPER, DUPER COOL!” Batgirl replied.

Well now, it was the harder bit...training time! Training like running, exercising and all that for sports and stuff isn’t that hard but, this was something different. This training depended on whether Adrian was becoming a superhero or not...

Let me tell you the steps and things you do at this training area for superheroes and stuff:

1. Climb up and down a building that is slippery and has stones on it without falling!
2. Get chased by evil remote controlled drones\robots!
3. Jump up and down and avoid VERY big obstacles!

Yep...and MUCH more. Don't worry, I forgot to mention- Adrian received a pack full of gadgets for her that matched her outfit, also, not to mention the cute fanny pack it came in. So, this was like a fitness\health training test and at the same time you had to know how to control and use your gadgets!

"Well now the real bit, training time......" Adrian muttered as she gulped and looked up at her obstacles.

Kahoot Game Part: 2

You may already know this but, every afternoon before room 678 (my new class a.k.a. room 6, 7 and 8 combined) have a Kahoot. Kahoot is a fun platform where you can create quizzes about ANYTHING. Since today my class and I learnt about ANZAC of course, the quiz was all about ANZAC. It was a bit tricky but TOTALLY fun! 

Have you ever played Kahoot before? I have MILLIONS of times hehe.

I have a challenge for YOU. I don't know weather you have heard of #thedress or not. #Thedress broke the internet in 2015 and really started blowing up in 2017.
Some people say that it is an illusion and others say it's two different pictures when really, its one picture but different ways people look at it. The picture on the right is what the real dress looks like.
If you look at the middle picture, you can see the colour slowly fading. If you look at the right picture you can see some gold and white assents. If you look at the left top corner on the image on the right, the whole dress looks white and gold.
This is part of the reason why people say that #thedress is white and gold and some say #thedress is black and blue. I see black and blue, what do you see? Credit: Julianna.

Today was Julianna and Kris's birthday. They are 11 years old now (1 year older then me) :0 

I made an online presentation card as, I couldn't go out to get them gifts. Happy birthday Julie and Kris!

Today, my class and I learned about the King Cobra snake, wasn't it just fascinating. Anyways, I had to write a story where I was at the perspective of the guy in this video!

As the King Cobra fixed his eyes onto mine, I quickly backed off. He could taste me from in the air, as he hissed away. ‘Ssssssss’. I had to stay a metre away, I didn’t want to get bitten.

The thought about its venomous bite made me shiver, he stared into my eyes. Dancing sparks were in his pupils as he gave me the ‘death stare’, LITERALLY! 

‘Ssssssssss’, hissed the snake uncontrollably. I knew it wanted to bite me, or just was tempted to bite me.

The fearsome scales were aligned on the backs of the King Cobra as he slowly carved his path towards me.

Snakes can stand up to 1 3rd of their length and that's exactly what the Cobra was doing.

“As long as I am this far away, I should be safe. If I went a few inches closer, it would attack!”

I muttered to the camera crew and to the snake, there was no way I was going to get bitten by the majestic King Cobra today-nu-uh!

All of a sudden, its tongue hissed out and frightened me as I jumped back. It hissed non-stop and stared into my soul. I could feel his eyes locking onto me, I was afraid he would jump-scare me and bite so I slowly backed off. Luckily there was a Cobra and snake master with me that knew exactly what to do if anything went wrong.

A few hours later, the snake had calmed off and started being friendly. I couldn’t stay for the whole day so I said my goodbyes and left-phew, that was close...

The aggressive sounds of gorillas growling gathered and echoed around. They knuckle-walked over and looked at the spy gorilla. An uneasy feeling passed on through the troop as they looked at both each other and the spy gorilla.

Of course they didn’t know it was a spy gorilla, they thought it was a regular gorilla but, just one they haven’t seen before. The dull robotic blinking eyes, the furry curls on the skin; Slow movements happening every once in a while.

“Oo, oo, aa, aa” spoke the most bulkiest one.

Nothing came out of the spy gorillas mouth, this alerted the others. Were they going to keep the spy gorilla as their friend, or leave him in the dust? Then, the decision was made...spy gorilla can stay!

They played and ran. But, games can get out of hand and one of the gorillas accidentally pushed the spy gorilla to the floor, leaving him lying and blinking and still, very dully.

“Oo, oo” said the gorilla as he stared into the spy gorilla's eyes and face.

Nothing happened, dead silence occurred. The gorilla was quite embarrassed and walked slowly into the distance, pretending like “nothing” happened.

The day passed and then it was night. But this doesn’t mean spy gorilla won’t film anymore, he stays to film another day...

I was sitting in a coffee shop (but for some reason, wasn’t drinking coffee) when...somebody blurted out,

“You; You are a Samurai aren’t you?” the voice sounded show-offish.

“Yes I am. Long time, no see” I said back.

“I am the ONLY one that should be a Samurai!”

Oh great, I thought to myself. I have to deal with an obnoxious show off AND he is my enemy!

“Actually, you know there have been other Samurais too? Not JUST you, Scorpion S?” I smartly said back to him.

“OH YEAH! Well then, do you want to settle this the hard way or the-”

“Yes, yes I know. Or the easy way, right? I choose...hard.” I cut him off because it’s not like I haven't seen a MILLION movies with people saying that before.

“Ok, ok” he replied, as he grabbed his sword. Then he said,

“Then let's do it, right here and right now” he added as he got his sword ready and came up to the middle of the room.

“No. I’d rather us fight outside where the birds sing gracefully and the ants work hard. Where the leaves rustle and the wind cools…” I peacefully told him.

I don’t know why he became so shocked but he did.

“?????????????????????????????????????????????” Scorpion S of course didn’t say that but, I knew that was what he was thinking.

“Aren’t you going to come? Like you said, you want to be the only Samurai so let’s handle this” I calmly told him as I grabbed my weapon, put my chair in and walked out the door and went into the unknown.

“But, but it’s raining!?!” indeed it was but, it was still calming.

He hesitated and then followed behind. All of the others in the coffee shop were probably staring their eyeballs out. When we arrived in a dryer spot, or when he arrived in a dryer spot, I was already ready to duel with him. There was doubt in his face but I had confidence in my face (to be honest, I didn’t know what my face was like).

“I can only remember the last time I saw you, we were good friends but YOU cut me off” he said acting like he was the victim.

“Last time I checked YOU left me”

Yep, he did. We were great friends until stuff got to his head. What I mean by ‘stuff’ is that he always wanted to have glory in EVERYTHING, this didn’t really affect me or him until he didn’t like how others became Samurais and he wasn’t the only one to be a Samurai. He got angry and left me.

But, now we had to settle this. We couldn’t just keep talking to each other and firing comebacks, we had to take some action.

“Are we going to settle this, or no? I don’t have all day to listen to you” I finally told him.

“Glad you asked...yes!” he said back.

All of a sudden the fighting started, CHING, CHING, CHING, CLANG, CLANG, CLANG went the noise of our swords bashing into each other.

Then, he fell down..pathetically and acted like he just got sliced in half.

“Um, ok..bye?” I said, I didn’t think he would get back up but..I was wrong.

CLANG! He tried to battle me again but I was stealthy and mindful so I quickly turned and defended myself with my sword.

“What do you want?” I asked him as I dueled him.

“Nothing, maybe just to be the ONLY SAMURAI EVER! Didn’t I tell you before?” he aggressively said back.

“Well like I said before, then let’s settle this”

“Glady!”

‘SWISH, CLING, CLANG, SWISH, CLING, CLING, SWISH, SWISH’ went to the air and our swords again.

Finally, I got my sword and defended myself from his sword and Scorpion S lost balance and fell on the wall.

“You may have defeated me this time but, you wont next time…” he said as if he was auditioning for a dramatic movie.

“Oh please, stop acting like this is a movie!” I replied as I spun my sword around and went off into the glistening sprinkles of rain…

If you guys didn't know, everyday my class and I have a 'maths test' after morning tea. The reason why I said 'maths test' instead of maths test is because, Mr Goodwin says it's not really a test. 

He says that, "it is to test yourself because, us teachers aren't going to mark these tests so its not REALLY a test". 

Of course, I didn't REALLY belive him but, oh well. But anyways, today I got 29\30! It's a really good score if you ask me. Before we do our tests first we practise some times table equations so we can get some maths answers in our head and get ready for the test.

Colour by Number - Cruella de Vil

This work is from last week when we were learning about Cruella de Vil. This is the maths task we had to do, it was quite hard. First, we had to figure out the answers to the questions and then write the answer down. The questions were all highlighted in different colours.
After we finished figuring out the answers, we had to find the same numbers we got as our answers and fill that box in the colour that the same equation that answer is highlighted as. I hope you enjoy!
